Both Veterinary Practice Membership and Individual Veterinary Professional Membership are free.
The Practice Membership is intended to support a code that promotes fair trading in the selling of cremation and disposal services for pets. More information may be obtained by filling the request on the right hand side of this page.
Individual Membership enables those working within the veterinary world to access information by simply registering on this website. We also have a Facebook group where professionals may follow us and have access to the latest information.

Veterinary Practice Members are not required to use an Association member for the services but must agree to investigate the procedures of the company they use and to describe the services accurately to their clients according to the International Standard Services Code. The Association also provides a recommendation on which services should be offered.
The selling of cremation services is an area that is fraught with dangers both for the surgery and for the pet owner who is placing their trust in their vet. This is largely the fault of a process that has been shrouded in secrecy, a subject matter that many people find difficult to talk about and a wish to protect the pet owner from realities that may be upsetting for them. The result of this is that many services sold by veterinary practices can at best be described as misleading.
It is time to reassess the way this is handled to embrace normal trading practices where services are accurately sold and fully described to the pet owner. It is then down to the owners to decide for themselves how they want their pets treated after death. Even with the best intentions it is not possible for veterinary practices to make that decision for them.
